Learning & doing the job. [Teacher's guide]

Summary: Shows how many new employees underestimate the importance of listening to instructions, being realistic with co-workers and the boss about their skills and showing a willingness to do the job "right" (the boss's way). In part 1, students will learn the importance of paying attention and listening, admitting ignorance of procedures or equipment and seeking help when they need it. In part 2, students will learn how employees are expected to be dependable, flexible when the boss requires change and open to criticism and correction when they need it. In part 3, students will learn that going the extra mile means pitching in to do grunt work without whining and showing a willingness to innovate.
