Mastering American English / Grant Taylor and Patrick J. Collins.
There is an intermediate and advanced section to this grammar exercise book. The intermediate section covers tenses, use of negatives, questions, and word order. The advanced section covers more complex points of English grammar. There is very little explanation of grammar; the aim is instead to let the student apply knowledge and become familiar with the sentence patterns used in English. An answer key at the back makes it a useful and popular text for self-study.
