This work describes some of the results of Canadaâs Truth and Reconciliation Commission on Indian Residential Schools (TRC). Exploring the role of art in reconciliation, healing, and political action, the book describes how visual and performing arts, cultural practices, and ritual have been used to heal the cultural losses and individual traumas associated with Indian residential schools. Contributors include First Nations artists, filmmakers, and playwrights, in addition to academics in Canadian studies, Indigenous studies, cultural historiography, and ethnomusicology. Those interviewed include: Bracken Hanuse Corlett, Georgina Lightning, Armand Garnet Ruffo, and Lisa Ravensbergen.
